Restorative AeroYoga® is a meditative practice that uses props like the aeroyoga® swing but also blocks, straps, sandbags, bolsters, and blankets to encourage a passive release of mind and body tension.
This aerial trapeze soft style, works to release deep tension passively, without active stretch or a very little active strech.
The majority of AeroYoga® classes are an active practice with the yoga swing in which you move from pose to pose, building heat and increasing your strength and flexibility in equal measure.
The general trend in aerial yoga practice is toward more athletic and acrobatic styles of practice.
Yet, in restaurative AeroYoga®, we say that the swing does the job instead of the student.
In restaurative AeroYoga® we found
Stretch: In restorative Aeroyoga, the goal is to be 100% supported and passive with no active stretch or a very soft active stretch. Props, including the yoga swing, are used to completely support your body.
Focus:In restorative AeroYoga® the focus is on stretching your connective and also focus is on the passive release of mind-body tension.
Props:AeroYoga® style use props like the own AeroYoga® swing, they are also used to either deepen or soften the stretch. Generally, restorative yoga will use props which may include straps, blankets, blocks, sandbags and bolsters.

Hello! I'm Rafael Martinez, creator of the AeroYoga® method. More and more scientific studies are interested in the benefits of meditation. This economic practice, without side effects and easy to implement, could help improve concentration, combat pain as well as limit cardiovascular problems. The AeroYoga® method includes meditation on its classes, workshops and teacher training as one of the main elements of aerial yoga practice.
In this article I present a compilation of 5 benefits related to the practice of mindfulness meditation. It is about physiological and psychological benefits. 1-Calm brain activity. One of the most interesting studies of recent years, conducted by Yale University in the United States, revealed that meditation calms brain activity. In fact, meditation decreases our brain's tendency to wander from thought to thought and, therefore, generate stress. As a result of the practice of meditation the person feels less stressed and calmer daily.
2-Meditation improves memory and concentration. Mindfulness meditation has been practiced by Buddhists for hundreds of years. The mind is a muscle and as for any muscle, it is important to train it daily. 3-Reduce stress and depression. Mindfulness meditation helps to reduce the symptoms of stress. It improves, among other things, the secretion of cortisol, also called "stress hormone". Used in therapy with people with depression, meditation also reduces the risk of recurrent depressive episodes.
4-Good for the heart. Physiological effect: decrease in heart rate. Respiratory effects: decrease in respiratory rate and oxygen requirements. 5-Meditation improves creativity. Meditation encourages divergent thinking (that is, proposes as many possible solutions to a problem), a key component of creativity. Therefore, it would induce an "improvised way of thinking" that would allow many new ideas to emerge.
AeroYoga is about enjoying the moment, the here and the now at the precise moment, becoming aware of the mind, body and breathing.
