AeroYoga® Nidra, what is it?
Aero Yoga Nidra is the variant of the AeroYoga® method dedicated to meditation and deep relaxation in suspension ... 

It is a system inspired by the fundamentals of Natha Yoga, ancestral yoga, where the abandonment of all physical and mental effort allows us to reach states of deep and authentic relaxation, conducive to the regeneration and recovery of the physical and mental state.

·How it is performed?
This deep relaxation is done in total or partial suspension thanks to the help of the AeroYoga swing.
First, exercises (asanas) are also performed with the help of the swing. These exercises aim to free the body and mind of stress and of all muscular load, so that the student reaches the state of nidra without difficulty.

· What is the relation with meditation?
Unlike meditation, AeroYoga Nidra is performed lying in the hammock (or on yoga mat with legs in suspension).
In general, the legs will be at a higher level than the rest of the body so that circulatory and lymphatic drainage is favored, both conducive to the state of deep relaxation.
In common with meditation, we can say that Aero Yoga Nidra allows mental and body abstraction, the teacher can then propose a guided meditation to allow the student to reach that state of full awareness and relaxation.

· Apart from the swing, what other elements accompany this deep relaxation on the swing?

In AeroYoga® we use hot stones (hot stone therapy) and blankets, as well as aromatherapy and music therapy.
· Hot stones on the forehead and belly help the student to empty his mind of thoughts, the hot stone on the forehead also helps to relieve any sensation of blockage (such as headache). The stone on the belly helps stimulate the digestive processes and unlock them which also causes a great sense of relief.
The stones may be used in other parts of the body such as crown, chest, feet etc.

· On the other hand, the blankets are used even if it is hot, since the student enters a state of abandonment where the body drops in temperature, the blanket will help the student not feel cold and can enjoy without inconvenience.

· Aromatherapy will help the inner journey of the student collaborating with that state of abstraction. 
Aromatherapy is used with essential oils of ecological origin on the stones or even in atomization on the student's body or in the classroom.

There are dozens of oils that can be used, the teacher chooses one or the other depending on the objective of the exercise.

· Music therapy is chosen by the teacher to guide his meditation and will always be selected to allow the student to relax deeply without falling asleep (conscious abstraction).

Aerial Yoga. Meditation, Wellness and Health Benefits

A recent study presented in Chicago recommends anxious people to practice Yoga and Meditation to avoid the double risk of having a heart attack.

A recent study shows that anxious people with cardiovascular disease are twice as likely to suffer a heart attack or die compared to those who live more calmly.

Stress and anxiety seem to become the preferred target of modern medicine to effectively combat cardio-vascular diseases according to the latest research published on Saturday, March 29, during a conference on cardiac care that took place in Chicago.

According to this study, people who reduce their stress level, or keep it under control, have a 60% lower risk of suffering a heart attack or brain attack than those whose anxiety is high or increasing.

This study was conducted on 516 patients suffering from coronary heart disease.
During the 3, 4 years on average of this study, they were followed during which 44 suffered a heart attack and 19 died, said Dr. Yinong Young-Xu, of the Lown Cardiovascular Research Foundation in Massachusetts.

The impact of psychological stress.

Dr. Young-Xu says that
"These studies have linked psychological stress, the result of depression or anxiety, with an increase in arteriosclerosis, the development of thrombosis and an increased risk of cardiac arrhythmia"

And he affirms that "few studies have concentrated on the fact of knowing if it is possible to improve the cardiovascular state of a person by evaluating their mental state and reducing the symptoms of depression and anxiety with antidepressants or psychotherapies".

This latest study, based on questionnaires and medical follow-up, should promote the need for cardiologists to pay more attention to the psychological problems of their patients suffering from cardiovascular deficiencies, said Dr. Young-Xu.

Reduce anxiety

According to this doctor
"If we can reduce the level of anxiety and stress, it could also decrease the likelihood of a heart attack or stroke and prolong the life of the patient."

An anxiety that lasts over time can increase the activity of the sympathetic nervous system that acts on the warning signals of the organism.
Stress can reduce the elasticity of fluctuations in the rhythm of the heart.
Research published in July 2007 in the Journal of The American Medical Assocation (JAMA) also shows that a high and chronic level of catecholamines, organic compounds that act as neurotransmitters, such as adrenaline, increase with stress.

Meditation

A high level of catecholamines helps increase cholesterol and blood sugar levels and raise blood pressure, according to this same study.
Its authors recommend, among others, meditation, yoga and other relaxation techniques that neutralize stress.
